I was never able to find out where this red glass came from. The red obsidian contained occasional natural spherical nodules in the glass. The color was deep reddish brown (more red than brown). Several years ago I purchased a slab of "red obsidian" on eBay. Some genuine red mahogany obsidian appears on eBay from time to time. This is not obsidian – it is common opal or a jasper-opal mix.
